Ascot Technologies Sponsors Robotic Vehicle

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cary, NC – September 23, 2005– Ascot Technologies, Inc., an award winning software and systems integration company, announced that it will sponsor Insight Racing in the upcoming DARPA Grand Challenge.

The DARPA Grand Challenge is a 150+ mile robotic vehicle race which will culminate on October 8, 2005 in the Southwest US. The race is sponsored by the Department of Defense and sports a $2 Million prize. The field of 200 entrants has been cut to 40 semi-finalists who will compete for race slots beginning next week. Insight Racing is the only team from the Carolinas or Georgia to compete.

According to Ascot Technologies’ CEO Mary Ellen Randall, “We believe in the new robotic technology under development by Insight Technologies, Inc. and are proud to sponsor their team.”
Other sponsors include NC State University, IBM, SAS, Red Hat, BDMICRO, PC MedEvac, Comtrol, SICK, Crossbow Technology, Inc., Lord Corporation, and Smith Anderson.
